Peace Council behind Al-Qaeda man release: Police

KUNDUZ (Pajhwok): Police in northern Kunduz province claimed on Saturday that a leading alleged Al-Qaeda terrorist, Qari Bilal, has been arrested several times but managed to free himself from prison with the connivance of Peace Council.
Police said Bilal had fled to Pakistan following the fall of Taliban regime but again staged comeback to Kunduz after facilitated by the Peace Council.
Sayyed Sarwar Hussaini, police spokesman, told a press conference that the man had involved in planting roadside bombs and waging armed struggle against the security forces.
