Civil society and Media National Conference on Peace Negotiations was held for one day at Inter-Continental hotel amongst 400 participants from across Afghanistan including Kabul.

Report of a 2-day Pugwash meeting on
Security in Afghanistan

The meetingwas clearly characterized from the start as a non-official meeting where all participants were free to express their personal opinions on a non-attributive basis. It was repeatedly clarified that the meeting was not supposed to be any sort of negotiation.

Makkah al-Mukarramah 22-25/02/2015
With the help of Allah Almighty the World Islamic Conference on “Islam and Counter Terrorism” has concluded its deliberations. The event has been organized by the Muslim World League in Makkah, on 3-6/05/1436H corresponding to 22-25/02/2015. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has patronized the event.
A high level delegation of the High Peace Council led by H.E. Chairman Salahuddin Rabbani visited Islamabad, on November 12-15, 2012, upon the invitation of H.E. Hina Rabbani Khar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The delegation called upon H.E. President Asif Ali Zardari and H.E. Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and met with H.E. Foreign Minister and General Ashfaq Kayani the Chief of Army Staff. The delegation also held meetings with Pakistan’s religious and political leaders.
Loya Jirga Tent, Kabul
The National Consultative Peace Jirga (NCPJ) participated by 1,600 delegates representing the suffering nation of Afghanistan from all walks of life including from both Houses of the Parliament, Provincial Councils, religious scholars, tribal leaders, civil society organizations, Afghan refugees residing in Iran and Pakistan (Invitees had been divided into 13 categories) was held for consultation on seeking ways out for the insecurity and for a lasting peace in the country. Professor Burhanuddin Rabani was selected to chair the Jirga.
